About Dr. Patterson
Scott Brian Patterson, DO, FACS, joined Riverchase Dermatology in 2021 with extensive experience in surgery, burn reconstructive surgery, critical care and trauma. He is a board-certified burn, trauma and general surgeon who began working in the medical field as a registered nurse. He advanced his education and medical career by obtaining his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003 from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Ky. This was followed by a five-year residency, training in general surgery, and then a one-year fellowship in surgical critical care and burn cutaneous reconstructive surgery at the University of South Alabama.
Years later, Dr. Patterson returned to the University of South Alabama and became an assistant professor in trauma/burn surgery. Throughout his career, he has had multiple poster presentations, published articles, and given multiple lectures at surgery grand rounds and conferences. More recently, Dr. Patterson held the position of surgical ICU director at Lee Memorial in Fort Myers, Fla.
In his free time, he enjoys outdoor family time with his wife and three daughters.
