About Dr. Lior

Tamara Lior, MD, FAAD, FACMS, is a double board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon joining Riverchase Dermatology in 2026. Fellowship-trained in Mohs skin cancer surgery and reconstruction, she has more than 26 years of experience specializing in skin cancer screening, dermatologic surgery, reconstruction, and prevention.

Dr. Lior is particularly passionate about Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstruction, skin cancer management, and helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes through early diagnosis and comprehensive skin examinations.

Dr. Lior believes medicine is much more than a career—it is both a privilege and a responsibility. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care and understands that skin conditions can impact not only physical health but also a patient’s confidence, emotional well-being, and quality of life. Known for her attentive and patient-centered approach, Dr. Lior takes the time to listen to her patients, educate them about their treatment options, and develop personalized care plans tailored to their unique needs.

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Lior earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, before obtaining her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her dermatology residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by advanced fellowship training in Mohs and Laser Surgery at Boston University. Throughout her distinguished career, she has held leadership positions including Chair of Dermatology and Head of Mohs and Laser Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She has also authored publications and presented at national dermatologic meetings.

Dr. Lior is fluent in English and German and has knowledge of Yiddish, allowing her to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds and build meaningful relationships founded on trust and communication.

When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Lior enjoys spending time with her family and beloved Goldendoodle, Bailey. Her interests include travel, exploring different cultures and cuisines, beekeeping, camping, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and staying current on the latest advances in medicine and dermatology.
