About Dr. Ticoras
Christ J. Ticoras, MD, FAAD, has more than 30 years of distinguished experience in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Born and raised in Warren, Ohio, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, summa cum laude with distinction, from The Ohio State University in 1987, where he also conducted extensive research on retinoids, leading to multiple publications.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, graduating as class president and receiving the Dean’s Award for Most Outstanding Graduate. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and received multiple academic honors.
Dr. Ticoras completed his internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at Wright State University, serving as chief resident in his final year. He became board-certified in dermatology in 1995 and has maintained active certification with the American Board of Dermatology through multiple recertifications.
Following residency, Dr. Ticoras served 12 years in the United States Air Force, including as chief of dermatology at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. During this time, he was appointed clinical assistant professor, Division of Dermatology, at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he taught medical students and residents.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ticoras has been recognized by the Consumer Research Council of America as one of America’s top dermatologists and has served in multiple leadership roles, including president of the Richland County Medical Society and trustee for The Ohio State University Mansfield Campus Board.
Dr. Ticoras enjoys history, music, walking, pickleball and spending time with his family.
