About Rory McDonough

Rory McDonough, PA-C, MPAS, is a Florida native who is trained in both general dermatology and plastic surgery, which is uncommon. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from University of North Florida, he went on to earn his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Florida.

During his studies, he became a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, where he’s contributed to the goal of providing quality PA care throughout the state of Florida. He is also a member of the Society of Dermatologic Physician Assistants where he stays up to date on current medical practices.

He joined the then-budding Riverchase Dermatology practice in 2011. While helping grow the practice, he has since specialized in routine skin exams, surgical excisions and surgical reconstruction of Mohs defects.

He is committed to community outreach programs, providing free skin screenings to the public, and advocating for skin wellness. He volunteers his time and expertise in the surgical training of PA’s, nurse practitioners and medical students in statewide conferences, hospital and university settings.

In his free time, Rory enjoys playing music, cooking, carpentry and family fun in the Florida shade. He comes from a family of medical practitioners and is thankful to carry on the tradition of providing quality patient care in southwest Florida.
