About Maria Elena Ferrer

Maria Elena Ferrer, DNP, APRN-BC, MSN-FNP, completed her medical school studies in Havana, Cuba, in 1994. She specialized in pediatrics and intensive care and worked for several years as an intensivist, a physician specializing in the care of critically ill or premature infants, in the neonatal care unit.

She emigrated to the United States in 2008 and joined Bowes Dermatology By Riverchase. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2012 and became a registered nurse. She continued her education and graduated as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) in 2019, and in 2021, she received her Doctorate in Nursing from Florida International University in Miami, Fla.

She specializes in all techniques for noninvasive fat removal as well as skin tightening. She is also an IPL specialist and aesthetic consultant for our patients.

Maria Elena lives with her parents in Miami, and is a proud and doting aunt to her niece. Her hobbies include traveling, singing and learning new languages. She is fluent in Spanish and French.
