Fellowship Trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon
Dr. Michael Lee joined Riverchase in 2014 after moving from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. A native of New Jersey, Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Lankenau Hospital, Dr. Lee returned to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital to complete his dermatology residency, and then pursued specialized training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, lasers, and cosmetic surgery in Miami, Florida.
He completed an ACGME-approved Procedural Dermatology fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Eli Saleeby, a Mohs Surgeon who trained directly with Dr. Frederic Mohs, the physician for whom Mohs Micrographic Surgery is named. During his fellowship, Dr. Lee also gained extensive experience in various cosmetic procedures including liposuction, blepharoplasty (eye lid surgery), sclerotherapy (vein treatment), and the use of lasers, Botox, and fillers under the guidance of Dr. Eduardo Weiss, one of South Florida’s most accomplished dermatologic and cosmetic surgeons.
In addition to being a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon, Dr. Lee is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. He has given presentations at national meetings and published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Dermatologic Surgery and the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
Dr. Lee enjoys practicing both pediatric and adult dermatology with a primary focus on the meticulous removal of skin cancer and the surgical reconstruction involved with Mohs surgery and cutaneous surgical oncology. Dr. Lee’s devotion to exceptional patient care adds invaluable quality to our team of experts.
